Ecuador: Aranceles a las computadoras en tiempos de pandemia

Abstract

This article had the primary objective of analyzing the effect generated by the reduction or increase in tariffs on computers, which became very important tools in the context of the pandemic, added to this, the research also sought to indicate how These increases and reductions affected businesses related to the sale of these electronic items. Under the premise presented previously, it is determined that the type of methodology applied was of a simple descriptive nature, with the application of quantitative methods, this is due to the fact that the data to be captured in this work are statistical and systematic from sources such as the SENAE (National Customs Service of Ecuador), BCE (Central Bank of Ecuador) and COMEX (Foreign Trade Committee). Additionally, it was verified that the tariff measures on this type of goods are unnecessary, since these measures directly affect the consumer and the businesses that tended to increase the prices of computers, and it is much more feasible when the tariff rate of computers and their components tend to 0 since businesses increase their sales and local industry can benefit by lowering its costs and offering competitive prices in the technology market.
