Factors associated with the survival of foundations in Tungurahua

Abstract

The objective of the research was to stablish the associated factors with the survival of the foundations in Tungurahua, through a study focused on an descriptive-analytical range , with a qualitative and quantitative approach, not experimental. For this, a sample of 307 foundations placed in the Tungarahua province was taken, with data collection technique, coming exclusively form the Unified System of Information of the Social Organizations(SUIOS), until December 2022, information that was tabulated and interprete, The Kaplan-Meier method was used with the test Log-Rank or proportional risks test supported by the statistical program  IBM SPSS Statistisc 23, Kaplan–Meier estimates the probability of a survival in a period of time, which allows us to determine it  is associated with factors.  Five factors were identified: number of founder members, field of action, commercial activity, level of education of the legal representative, presence on internet that throws a p.value (two sides significance) below to 0.05, which statistically determines that they are associated to the foundations’ survival, thus it can be concluded that the organizations that belongs to this place, which considered these factors, continue to function, however, the need for a restructuring of registration regulations and increase of relevant information in the database of SUIOS.
